I REALLY HATE when I’m talking about my desire for romantic love and someone says, “well love yourself.” Like shut the fuck up. Self love and romantic love do not replace each other. They do not fill the same void. And just because I wish there was someone in my life that made me feel special, doesn’t mean I don’t think I’M special. Fuck your projections. Regardless of HOW MUCH you love yourself, it doesn’t replace the energy, strength, commitment, and love that can come from another. As a general note, my feelings aren’t up for debate. I just wanted to vent.

I was at a party last night and this weird nerd guy was screaming and punching the wall whenever he missed at beer pong and I cornered him later and I was like “Hey, can I give you some constructive criticism?” And he was like “Uhh ok.” And I was like “People would like you a lot more if you weren’t going around screaming and punching walls like a fucking creep.” And he got really scared and asked “Are you going to kill me?” And I literally dont understand how he got that from what I said. I think I’m scarier than I realize.

Cultures that endorse modesty and cultures that endorse hypersexualization are the *same* thing. Both define female sexuality by how it relates to the male gaze. In both cases the female body exists as an ornament either to be kept carefully hidden or put on display. Neither is an empowering feminist achievement.
